Mr and Mrs S. required both a workshop and a garden studio. After looking at various alternatives, they ordered the buildings from John Shields.
The customers were impressed with the high quality of finish. They particularly liked the pressure treated timber used throughout the buildings.
Mr S. needed a sturdy building with good security for lawn mowers and other equipment. To increase the security, John Shields recommended weld mesh over the windows, nuts and bolts on all door furniture and a 5 lever mortice door lock. Shelves were also supplied to make best use of the space.

Mrs S. has many hobbies, particularly painting, and wanted a light and warm studio. The studio ordered was 4.2m x 3m, with a veranda 1.2m wide. Roof lights provided the daylight required within the studio.
Mrs S. wrote to John Shields a little while after the installation was complete, saying “We love our buildings and the cats are particularly fond of the veranda!”
