Home Office and Garden Studio manufacturers, John Shields Woodwork have a large variety of timber buildings on show for you to come and visit at our main road site, near North Tawton, in mid Devon.

Although based in Devon we supply garden studios throughout Cornwall and the South West of England. n.

Floor. 18mm hardwood ply which is insulated with 50mm polystyrene and sheathed with 6mm ply. 75mm x 38mm joists at 400mm centres.

Walls. Sectional timber panels of redwood shiplap timber on 75mm x 38mm frames with uprights at 600mm centres. Eaves height of 2.1m. A Breathable wall membrane and vapour barrier is included.

Windows. Joinery manufactured softwood casement windows, preservative treated, with locking catches and trickle ventilators. Standard frame sizes 1200mm or 1050 high. Sealed double glazed units with 4mm float glass and 12mm air gap.

Doors. Framed tongue and groove pattern (YX) or top half glazed if required with toughened glass (2XG) size 750mm wide x 1980mm high. Double doors are fully glazed (P20) size 1170mm wide x 1980mm high. Doors are treated with a preservative and hand painted with Sikkens light oak microporous wood stain. Doors have 5 lever mortice lock and solid brass furniture, which ensures the stusio is secure. Door frame: weatherproof frame with seal and hardwood threshold.

Roof. Plastic coated steel box profile sheeting (plastisol) on timber sectional frames covered with 11mm sterling board and breathable roof membrane. If required we also offer felt shingles or a slate roof.

Interior. Celing and all walls are insulated with 100mm glass mineral wool and lined with 12.5mm MDF.

Rainwater goods. Black pvc half round gutter, down pipes and fixings.

All exposed timber is pressure treated. Windows and door frames stained with a brown preservative prior to delivery.
